Kallmünz Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, above a coronet Or, beneath three lozenges Azure-Argent-Azure in fess.
Meaning:
The settlement beneath ac castle was founded in the 12th century and became a possession of the Wittelsbach kin in 1188. It was upgraded to a market town in 1283, protected by a strong fortification. The arms were granted together with a town seal. The lozenges are a differentiation of the family arms of the Dukes of Bayern. Probably also the coronet is alluding to the sovereigns. The tinctures are known since the end of the 16th century. Tinctures and pattern haven´t changed since then.
