Drachselsried Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Azure a crozier Or and a key Argent in saltire, beneath Or a man´s torso bearded Sable and dressed Gules wearing a hat of the same with three points.
Meaning:
Crozier and key are taken from the arms of the Benedictine Oberaltaich Abbey, which had been the local manorial lord from the 12th century until the 14th century. The so called pagan´s torso with cap is taken from the arms of the Imperial Barons of Degenberg, who died out in 1602. The branch displays the other arms of the barons, who ruled the village probably since around 1400. The village became seat of a district (Bavarian: Hofmark) in the 16th century and was donated to Balthasar Kürmreutter in 1551.
