Weisenbach Coat of Arms

Shield Argent, a ladder Gules in bend, flanked by two heraldic roses Gules, seeded Azure and barbed blue, one in sinister chief, the other in dexter base.
Weisenbach, created by forest clearance, was together with Au, established in the 15th century, apart of the Lordship of Neueberstein, which became a dominion of the Margraviate of Baden partially in 1387 and completely in 1676. Local seals since the end of the 18th century displayed a ladder in bend, accompanied by the initials "DZ". The meaning of the initials is unknown. The initials were replaced in 1901 by the roses from the family arms of theCounts of Eberstein, which also appeared on the arms of Au, adopted in 1900. Before the ladder was depicted in natural colour, i.e. brown.
