Baar-Ebenhausen Coat of Arms

Shield parted per pale, at dexter Argent a fleur-de-lis Azure, at sinister Azure a hood Or, in base a fess wavy in counterchanged tinctures.
Meaning:
Baar and Ebenhausen merged in 1984. The fleur-de-lis is an attribute of St. Mary, patron saint of the church of Baar, and representing that former municipality. The hood is taken from the seals of the Knights of Ebenhausen, who owned estates in the area, especially in Ebenhausen, Nörting, Hönighausen andTegernbach. Furthermore they had special rights of administration in Pfaffenhofen and Rottenegg. The fess wavy is a representation of the name giving Paar River. The tinctures blue and white are those of the Wittelsbach kin.
