Rieden Coat of Arms

Shield parted by a fess wavy Argent, above Gules a dove Argent holding a wreath of the same by her beak, beneath Azure a lower demi-millwheel Argent.
Meaning:
The fess wavy is a representation of the Wertach River. The dove is taken from the personal arms of Honorius Grieninger, who had been abbot of Irsee Abbey between 1784 and 1802. He built the local castle in 1793. The abbey owned estates in the municipality since the 12th century and gained complete sovereign rights later. The millwheel is representing the watermill of Zell near Rieden, which was first mentioned in 1191.
