Bodenkirchen Coat of Arms

Shield Argent parted per pale by a cross patty Azure, flanked in base by two crescents Sable addorsed.
Meaning:
The crescents are taken from the arms of the Haunzenberger kin of Haunzenbergersöll, who owned large estates in the former municipality of Haunzenbergersöll, which had been independent until 1828, between the 13th and 17th century. The kin also ruled the local district. The cross is an attribute of St. John the Baptist, patron saint of the two local parish churches. Representing the church the cross is also canting due to the suffix "-kirchen".

The banner has never been approved officially. The arms were approved on 6 September 1968 by Minister of Interior of Bayern.
