Ludwigschorgast Coat of Arms

Shield Azure, issuant from base a mount Vert, charged with a fess wavy Argent and topped by a round bastion Argent with an additional curtain wall, both Argent masoned Sable with port and windows of the same and with roofs Gules.
Meaning:
The first seal from 1476, the second seal from 1581 and the arms in the Roll of Vassals of the Bishopric of Bamberg in 1603 already displayed the current pattern. Tower and wall are symbolising the fortified character of the town and the fess wavy is representing the name giving Schorgast River. The arms were not in use during the 19th century. They were restored in local seals in 1953.
