Painten Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Or three deciduous trees Vert in fess, beneath lozengy of Argent and Azure consisting of seven lozenges in bend.
Meaning:
The number of lozenges was fixed within the grant of the arms, thus a differentiation of the family arms of the Wittelsbach kin, which should display 21 lozenges. The oldest seal got lost in 1584. The pattern of all later seals is based on the grant from 1576. The trees are referring to the large Painten Forest. In the 19th century the arms of Painten disappeared completely from the contemporaneous rolls of arms. Otto Hupp displayed the trees on a silver background.

The banner has never been approved officially. The arms were approved on 2 January 1576 by Duke and Palatine Count Philipp Ludwig of Pfalz-Neuburg.
