Schneckenlohe Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a basket Argent, mantled, at dexter barry of eight of Azure and Argent, superimposed by a crancelin Gules, at sinister barry of eight of Or and Sable, superimposed by a crancelin Gules.
Meaning:
Schneckenlohe was established in 1987 by a merger of the independent municipalities of Beikheim and Mödlitz. Schneckenlohe was first mentioned in 1095 as a possession of the Lords of Redwitz, to which Beikheim also belonged since the 14th century. Mödlitz was a possession of the Dukes of Sachsen-Coburg. The dexter quarter displays the arms of the Redwitz kin, but the red bend was replaced by a crancelin. The sinister quarter displays the Saxonian arms, but the colour of the crancelin was changed from green to red. The basket is symbolising basketry, which was very common since the 19th century and was done mainly at home.
