Buttenwiesen Coat of Arms

Shield sinister bendy of six of Gules and Argent charged with a pale Or, mantle Argent, at dexter parted by a cross patty Sable, at sinister masoned Sable a door of the same with two metal fittings Or in pale.
Meaning:
Buttenberg Castle was owned by Lords of Eberstall-Reisensburg during the 12th and 13th century and became a possession of the Margraves of Burgau in 1247. They remained local rulers until the early 19th century. The golden pale is alluding to courtyard and bailiwick of the margraves. The black cross is alluding to the Teutonic Order, which owned estates in the village and held the local sinecure between 1237 and 1250. The door is a canting element and alluding to the minstrel Ulrich of Thürheim and was part of the former municipal arms of Oberthürheim and Unterthürheim.
