Ahorn Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Or a maple leaf Vert, beneath Azure a castle Argent with two corner towers.
Meaning:
A local seal from the 19th century displayed a complete maple (German: Ahorn), which was reduced to a leaf in the arms. The leaf is canting. The local castle was first mentioned in 1075. The tinctures blue and golden are those of the Barons of Erffa, who own the castle since 1843. The tinctures green and silver are those of Sachsen-Coburg, to which the county historically belonged.
