Pempfling Coat of Arms

Shield Gules a saltire Argent under a bar dancetty of the same, chief Argent a sinister fess fracted Azure.
The fracted fess is taken from the arms of the Pempflinger kin, who lived in the village from 1267 until the middle of the 15th century. The tnctures silver and blue are referring to the fact that Pempfling belonged to the Cham court district under direct cognisance of the Wittelsbach kin. The bar dancetty is reminding on the Murach kin, who owned the Kager district (Bavarian: Hofmark) and estates in several villages of the current municipality, among those Pempfling and Grafenkirchen. The saltire is an attribute of St. Andrew, the local patron saint. The tinctures red and silver are stressing the relationship to the Bishopric of Regensburg.
