Zusmarshausen Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, on top of a hill Vert a chapel Argent with roof Azure, port and windows sable and masoned Sable, a fountain Argent springs up from the open port.
The town seal is known by prints from around 1590. It already displayed the canting pattern, displaying a "house at the Zusam River". Even then the house looked like a chapel. This pattern was kept in a medal of the mayor from 1819 and in the literature from the 19th century. Information about the original tinctures from 1811 are probably erroneous. The current tinctures were introduced by Otto Hupp (1925). Red and white are the tinctures of the Bishopric of Augsburg. There is no information about the very first local court seal.
