Hiltenfingen Coat of Arms

Shield Argent parted by a cross patty Sable, inescutcheon Azure charged with a chevron Argent.
According to blazon the chevron is abased. The black cross in white is the coat of arms of the Teutonic Order, a former manorial lord. The chevron is taken from the arms of the Lords of Schwabegg, reeves of Augsburg and local rulers in Hiltenfingen. The Lords of Hiltenfingen had been their vassals. When the Schwabegg kin died out in 1167, it was succeeded by the Staufen kin and later in 1268 by the Dukes of Bayern. The tinctures white and blue are those of Bayern. Hiltenfingen, Türkheim and Ettringen formed the Lordship of Schwabegg.
