Rothenbuch Coat of Arms

Shield parted per fess, above Or an eradicated beech Gules at dexter and an attire of the same at sinister, beneath Gules a 6-spokes wheel Argent.
Meaning:
The municipality was first mentioned in 1318 as "settlement near the red beeches" near a hunting lodge of the Archbishops of Mainz. The red beech (German: rote Buche) is a canting element. The settlement had been seat of a forestry office until 1485, symbolised by the attire. The forester temporarily also had the low level cognisance. The wheel is symbolising that the whole area belonged to the Archbishopric of Mainz for a long time.
