Overview

Corredores Canton (32,753 inhabitants, 62,060 ha) is made of the four districts of Corredor, La Cuesta, Paso Cancas and Laurel. Corredores Canton was established by Law No. 5,373 of 19 October 1973, as the 10th canton of Puntarenas Province, with Villa (now Ciudad) Neily as its capital. The canton is named for river Corredor.

The Flag

The flag of Corredores is diagonally divided yellow-white with two counter-coloured stars in each triangle. Yellow represents the sun and the tropical climate of the region. White is a symbol of peace. The stars represent the four districts that form the canton.
