See the source at [s9e36]. I have been working on this curious source and have found at least 15 flags
whose specific representation in it is somehow noteworthy, including
some unique, seemingly unexplainable errors.
The 2nd flag of the 4th row on the front cover shows the
national flag of Costa Rica (and spells it "Costarica", while one
would guess either "Kostarika" or "Costa Rica", based on how all
other country names are spelt in this source): It is shown in 1:2 ratio,
and this is relevant as this source, as said, shows different ratios for
each flag, not all shoehorned to the same ratio. The official ratio of
the national flag of Costa Rica was indeed 1:2 from
1906 to 1934, so this might have been a matter of showing a slightly
outdated design, rather than an outright error. However, it’s not clear
to me whether the plain striped flag, without the coat of arms, existed
or not, in this 1:2 ratio of 1906-1934 period, as shown in the source.
