The Newfoundland and Labrador Association of Public and Private Employees (NAPE) is the largest union in the province and is the recognized bargaining agent for over 25,000 public and private sector employees. It was established ca. 2014 (disputed claim) to promote, foster and protect the interests and well-being of [union members], to provide a medium for united action with respect to matters of common concern to the members as employees and to act as a representative body of the members for the purpose of advancing the general welfare of the said members as employees and the conditions of their employment.
