About the Flag of Penápolis

Vertical tricolor of blue, white, red, with the municipal arms in the center on the white stripe.

The flag of the city was instituted by Municipal Law nš 770, in 19-04-1974, having been displayed for the first time during the commemorative festivities for the 66th anniversary of the city.

Its width is 2/3 of its length, and it can be made to any size, so long as it respects that ratio.

The flag is divided in three vertical rectangles of equal widths, in the colors blue, white and red. The tones of blue and red are identical to the ones of the arms of the city. The central rectangle of white color serves as the field for the coat of arms as instituted by the Law nš 301, of 23-12-1960, that occupy the center.

The blue color represents intelligence, the concern for culture and the spirituality of the Penapolenses. The red color represents power, the genius of the fight, and the love work. The heraldic shield of the city rests on the white purity of the central rectangle of the flag, demonstrating that it was from a virgin geographic area that a laborious and idealistic people constructed permanent wealth, built a cultured city and sculptured the unmistakable image of faith.

The flag can be exhibited outdoors or indoors, in festivals or official and saints days.
