located 500 km west of Curitiba.
The flag of Salto do Lontra is prescribed by Municipal Law No. 311 promulgated on 19 April 1977.
The flag of the municipality of Salto do Lontra was designed by vexillologist and heraldist Arthur Luponi.
The flag of the municipality of Salto do Lontra is rectangular, in proportions 14 units in width on 20 units in length. The flag's cerulean blue field features in the center a five-pointed white star pointing upwards superimposed to a cerulean blue circle, also centered, superimposed to a blue cross formed by the two medians of the rectangle and fimbriated in white.
§1. The flag's proportions are identical to those of the national flag.
§2. The color shades are cerulean blue and snowy white.
The two colors (blue and white) recall the original colors of the cloak of the Virgin invoked as Our Lady of the Apparition, the patron saint of the municipality of Salto do Lontra.
The white five-pointed star symbolizes the municipality of Salto do Lontra. It is also a symbol of self-determination, safe guidance, aspiration to higher and sublime acts (Guelfi, 521).
The design of the flag of the municipality of Salto do Lontra shall obey the following rules.
I - ABCD: Rectangle forming the flag, 14 units in width on 20 units in length, like the national flag
II - EF, GH: Medians (horizontal and vertical)
