The coat of arms is "Or bordered sable serrated gules a bronze sword ancient pointed downwards proper".
This is a depiction of the sword from the Veliki Mošunj archeologic site of the so-called Butmir Culture (ca. 3000 BC, Neolithic Age). The serrated edge is also a reference to the ancient inhabitants of the region. The serrations in the border form letters "V", for Vitez.

The colors are determined in metallic shades, as follows:
- Shield: Unoxidated Bronze - Pantone 810 CVC;
- Sword: Oxidated Copper Tin, that is, Oxidated Green-Blue Bronze - Pantone 327 CVC 2X;
- Triangles: Black - Pantone 8602 CVU;
- Serrations: Red - Pantone 8922 CVU.

The former flag of Vitez (photo), used from the first half of the 1990s until probably not much after 1998, is yellow with the central part of the coat of arms used at the time.
The coat of arms is "Gules a knight holding a sword raised over his head armoured argent riding a horse towards sinister of the same harnessed or within a border or containing a ribbon also or inscribed "Vitez" in the chief and another ribbon or inscribed '23. travanj' in the base". Vitez means "knight"; the inscription in the base, "23 April", St. George's Day, reveals the identity of the depicted knight.
