Description of the flag

In 1890 Mantoloking was enriched with a club for outdoor sports and social activities for summer residents and their guests. Its main attraction was a nine-hole golf course over the dunes, played with a red ball.

In 1900 a Golf and Yacht Club was built. The yachting for youngsters was a basin on the grounds.

In 1907 the club became the Mantoloking Yacht Club. The club burgee that year, and probably since, was a red field with a white "M" on it.

By 1917, the club had become a member of the Barnegat Bay Yacht Racing Association.

In the second half of that century, of the member of the club, 10 members at some point became Olympians.

Lloyd's Register of American Yachts in the course of history several times published the burgee of the Mantoloking Yacht Club.
