Description of the flag

The flag was designed by John Wagner, a resident of Kelley, who began his work in 2020 and presented 2 versions to the city council in April 2022. The designs were voted on by other residents, and a winner was announced in the city newsletter in July 2022. Owing to the designer's request, the flag was first flown in front of city hall in December 2022.

The flag's description in the July 2022 ballot.

The middle stripe represents the single road that has always been the main way in and out of town. The two white stripes symbolize the railroad tracks it used to be

The star represents the city itself, the center of which the road passes directly through.
