Presentation of L'Étang-Salé

L'Étang-Salé (French for The Salty Pond) is a commune in the department and region of Réunion. There are 13,600 inhabitants on 38.65 km².

Flag of L'Étang-Salé

The flag of L'Étang-Salé is white with the former logo, made of the coat of arms, the name of the commune, and the motto "Entre mer et forêt" (bewteen sea and forest) (photo, photo, photo, photo, photo). A new logo was adopted in january 2023 but the flag has not yet been modified.

The coat of arms is blazonned: Argent a flying harrier Sable, chaussé of Argent four fesses wavy Azure. The Réunion harrier (Circus maillardi - french: papangue) is an endangered bird of prey now found only on the island of Réunion.
