Coat of arms

Shield Or with base wavy of Argent and Azure, charged with one fish najant Or, issuant from base a fess Gules masoned Argent, in chief two reeds Vert in saltire, fruited Argent. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) (realised white with reddish lines) and an unusual white scroll with inscription in black capitals "CANIÇADA".

Caniçada Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Vieira do Minho Municipality; it had 455 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 6.5 km².

The arms are Azure three oak twigs Argent fruited Argents and garnished Vert per fess set in pale and in chief a mitre Or lined and garnished Gules and one a base wavy Argent two barrulets wavy Azure. Mural crown argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "SOENGAS".

Presentation of Soengas

Soengas Commune was one of the pre-2013 communes of Vieira do Minho Municipality; it had 248 inhabitants in 2011 and covered 2.2 km². Soenga" is an old Portuguese word meaning barren land.
