Shield Gules, an eradicated chestnut tree Argent with burs Vert slit Or, in chief a sword in bend Or over a sword in bend sinister Argent, both swords pointing upwards and in saltire, everything between two pallets wavy Azure fimbriated Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll reading in black upper case letters "FREGUESIA DE VIMIOSO".
Meaning:
This Coat of arms and flag share clear resemblance with that of the neighbouring Carção commune. I suppose, it is a reference to the common medieaval Jewish heritage.
