Coat of arms

Shield Azure a bar wavy Argent charged with a barrulet wavy Azure, in chief a pair of keys crossed per saltire, the bendy one Or and the sinister bendy one Argent, in base a lyre Or. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "BARROSELAS".
Meaning:
The crossed keys are an attribute of St. Peter, the local patron saint.

Coat of arms

Shield Or with base wavy of Azure and Argent, a fess Argent masoned Sable, in central chief a disc Gules charged with a Greek cross Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "CARVOEIRO - VIANA DO CASTELO".
Meaning:
Disc and cross are displaying the emblem of the Benedictine Order.
