It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of white and blue.

Shield Argent parted by a saltire wavy Azure, in chief a Greek cross Gules with 12 acorns Or capsuled vert, in base a bunch of three branches of olive Vert fruited Sable and tied Gules, in each flank a paly picket Or. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "VILA DE RIACHOS".
Meaning:
The cross is an attribute of St. Anthony, the local patron saint. The pickets are representing some kind of local cowboys (people driving cattle). The olive branches are representing agricultural tradition. The saltire is representing Almonda River, separating the commune and its neighbours.

Presentation of Riachos

Riachos Commune is one of the ten communes of the Torres Novas municipality (q.v.); it had 5247 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 14.6 km².
