It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a field quartered of blue and white.

Coat of arms

Shield Argent with base wavy of Azure and Argent, issuant from base a throughout bridge Gules masoned Or and having three arches, in chief a smelter Sable, garnished Or with drop Or, flanked by two melons Vert. Mural crown Argent with four visible towers (town rank) and white scroll with inscription in black capitals "SOBREIRA - PAREDES".

Presentation of Sobreira

Sobreira Commune is one of the 18 communes of Paredes Municipality; it had 4300 inhabitants in 2011 and covers 21.0 km². Sobreira was upgraded to a town on 26 August 2003.
