It is a typical Portuguese communal flag, with the coat of arms centred on a plain white field.

Coat of arms

Shield Vert a pitcher Or between a bunch of three corn cobs Or tied Argent in base and a pair of keys crossed per saltire in chief, the bendy key Or and the sinister bendy key Argent. Mural crown Argent with three visible towers (village rank) and white scroll with inscription in black initials "ARADAS - AVEIRO".
Meaning:
The crossed keys are attributed of St. Peter, probably being the local patron saint.
