images located by Valentin Poposki, 20 June 2026Ancash is one of 24 Departments and one of 26 regional governments in Peru.
Its flag is blue with the regional coat of arms on it. The current version seems
to be adopted in 2021. The previous version was also blue with the regional coat
of arms on it. I prepared two images for the current flag, and one for the
previous flag.

My friend from Ancash (Chimbote) will travel to her home and I will have
confirmation. Seems that has a flag blue, white and green but is unknown if is
vertical or horizontal, but the parents of my friend say that they never see it
and only know the well attested departmental blue flag.

I have rendered the 2012 flag that Vanja linked to here:
https://panoramahuaraz.blogspot.com/2012/10/gran-participacion-de-docentes-de.html.
The arms sit diagonally so that they appear vertical when mounted indoors.
