The Royal Flag represents the royal power of king of Morocco, while Royal Standard connects to his person.
After the declaration of independence in 1956 the sultan's standard became a red triangle charged with a green and yellow pentagram and a yellow bordure.
This was changed when a national and royal achievement was adopted in 1957. The Royal Standard of King Al-Hasan II became his personal standard, and a Royal flag was also introduced.
The Royal flag is based on national flag, but the green pentagram has a yellow fimbriation.

According to Lux-Wurm’s article [lux01], The Royal flag is a red triangular flag with a yellow border on its free edges and a green and yellow pentagram placed in the middle of the flag. Lux-Wurm says that this flag was the standard used by Hasan II (1961-1999).

In Lux-Wurm’s article [lux01], ratio is ≈5:7, while Louda [lou72] seems to show it much wider, ≈7:11.

This flag is also shown in 1955 Flags of All Nations [hms55]. In Fachinger [fcgXX] are quoted as sources the 1954 Album des Pavillons March 1957 ammedement [f9r57], and Carr Flags of the world [car53]. (The yellow border is always pictured or quoted as dark yellow.)

Possible variant flag
Spanish newspaper El País published an article (15th July 2000, Comunidad Valenciana supplement, p. 3) about an audience granted by King Muhammad VI of Morocco to the president of the Valencian Region (Spain). Behind the King appears a national flag with a border made of embroidered olive leaves (possibly golden, possibly green as the star). It may be simply an ornament, but it certainly is not simply a fringe and I wonder whether this might be any kind of royal standard.

Personal standard of King Al-Hasan II was green with royal coat of arms on it.

Album 2000 [pay00] shows a 1:1 green flag with coat of arms in the middle. I suspect this flag is rather new (part of early 1990’s flag reorganization?), since it is not mentioned neither in FTTAAATW [smi75b] nor in FAAATW [smi82] nor even in Crampton [cra90].

The new king Muhammad VI chose red color instead of green, and red version with coat of arms has already been used since 2000 (at least on cars):

Actually, it seems that this flag is used only on cars, I haven t found any other pictures when it is used as an indoor flag.
