Overview

Previously Reported Flag and coat of arms of Kedainiai city (Kaunas county - Kauno apskritis, Kaisiadorys district - Kaisiadoriu rajonas) drawn according to my personal observation.
Anon., 24 November 2003

Blazon: Azure a sea-ram argent and a bezant and in base sable a sword argent blade wavy pointed to sinister.
Željko Heimer, 28 November 2003

Zarasai - On a blue field a silver imaginary creature, partly stag, partly fish, above a golden orb, on a black base a silver wavy sword. Flag proportions 10:13, fringe is silver, finial is a golden paddle with a ring and silver bands. The creature symbolizes rich forests and lakes, the orb means the sun, and the sword symbolizes both historical battles and justice.

Aviliai

image from/by the Lietuvos heraldikos komisija / Lithuanian Heraldry Commission, 03 October 2025

"Newly created coat of arms, flags, and seal of Aviliai. This coat of arms belongs to the group of canting arms. The charge is a beehive, associated with the name of the area and Lake Avilys located here. Lithuanian word avilys stands for a beehive and the word aviliai is a plural form. The golden cross at the top of the wooden beehive reflects the old chapel that once stood in the area, the former Piarist monastery, and the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, which still stands today. The cross also bears witness to the Giedrai?iai family. For a long time, the area of Aviliai was owned by the Giedraitis dukes, even in the 18th century. Many members of this family were bishops, including the blessed Mykolas Giedraitis. This symbol would also commemorate other distinguished personalities who have contributed to the town: Alfonsas Kadžius, a priest who served in Aviliai from 1974 to 1999, who was a polyglot, translator, and researcher; as well as priests from the beginning of the 21st century: Remigijus Kavaliauskas, Stasys Tamulionis, and Vytautas Dagelis. Bees are a symbol of diligence, creativity, and friendship. In the Christian worldview, bees were also considered a symbol of purity and moderation. Medieval bestiaries wrote about bees that, although weak in strength, they are strong in wisdom and love of virtue. Argent symbolizes wealth, integrity, purity, and the lake that flows in the Aviliai, while Azure symbolizes loyalty, divine wisdom, constancy, and honesty. The artist for the symbols of Aviliai was Arvydas Každailis."
