He served Toyotomi Hideyoshi from his childhood and became the lord of Yuzuki Castle in Iyo Province in 1587 for his expedition to Kyushu, and was given 113,000 goku. In the Battle of Sekigahara, he was a member of the Eastern force, and his military exploits earned him a total of 490,000 goku, including part of the provinces of Aki and Bingo. He was awarded 490,000 goku and became the lord of Hiroshima Castle. The war banner has black background with two white vertical “Yamamichi” meandering lines topped with a red Maneki with a white horizontal stripe. Another war banner has white background with a blue meandering line and two red paulownia emblems.
