The city emblem was adopted on Mar 31st 2006 by Notice No 1 but there is no
flag law. The white flag has a blue, a green, an orange three color city emblem
in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana くに Kuni of  Kunisaki.
It represents an image of the city where a valuable history, a climate and an
industrial culture live together with an eco-friendly local community enveloped
with a nature and vividly and strongly make a leap forward to the future and
develop and prosper.
