The city emblem was adopted on Jan 18th 2010 by Notice No 2 but there is no flag law. The white flag has a green and an orange two color city emblem in the center. The city emblem is a stylized hiragana う U of Uonuma in a form of a paddy. The six circles symbolizes merged two towns and four villages. It represents an image in which the people and the nature support each other.
