The Flag

Komae city adopted its emblem on 1 October 1970 by Notice No. 35, flag proportion: 2:3, colour of field: dark violet, colour of emblem: white diameter of emblem: 3/5 flag height, a stylized hiragana Ko こ.
Nozomi Kariyasu, 10 March 2006

The emblem is a stylised hiragana ko こ. The central section depicts the River Tama, and the emblem as a whole expresses Komae in the newly developing metropolitan area.
Jonathan Dixon, 4 July 2006

For city of Komae I found two variants of flag. Purple one is maybe doubtful.
Tomislav Šipek, 26 June 2014

Komae City answered they now use purple flag, but not blue one.
Nozomi Kariyasu, 30 June 2014

Thanks to Mr. Kariyasu, here is correction of flag.
