Kumagaya si adopted its emblem on 1 October 2005 by Notice No 1; a stylized katakana Kuma クマ and kanji Ya 谷. No flag legislation but they have a flag: flag proportion: 2:3; colour of field: white; colour of emblem: red; diameter of emblem: 3/5 flag height.

The design combines the hiragana character め“me” and the kanji character for “woman” 女 to symbolize the development of agriculture, commerce, and industry.
