The Minister of Public Security heads the המשרד לביטחון הפנים (English: Office, more properly translated as Ministry of Public Security and sometimes referred to as Ministry of Internal Security) which was established in 1948 and it is the statewide law enforcement agency and oversees the Israel Police, the Israel Prison Service and the Israel National Fire and Rescue Services.

The flag is a dark blue background with the State of Israel flag on the canton and the coat of arms on the lower right corner towards the fly, with the inscription "המשרד לביטחון הפנים" below it.
