Overview

Hungarian village near Celldömölk town (7 km east) closed to the county border near Pápa town (23 km west). The settlement was established in the 19th century when Merse and Belsovát villages were united. Inhabitants by the 2001 Population Census: 588 Ethnic affiliation: Hungarian: 100,0%; Polish: 0,5% Religion: Roman Catholic: 69,0%; Calvinist: 2,2%; Lutheran: 26,9%; does not belong to any church/denomination: 0,7%; unknown, did not wish to answer: 0,9%.
