The CCEV (18 municipalities; 11,306 inhabitants in 2016; 53,990 ha) was established in 2014 as the merger of the former Communauté de communes du pays d'Écueillé (est. 1995) and Communauté de communes du pays de Valençay (est. 1994).
The flag of the CCEV (photo) is white with the authority's logo, which features the castle of Valençay.
