Description of the flag

Fefan municipality shows the mura (Ducula oceanica teraoki) (“the highest type of bird”) and the wokupuun (the club to dig or harvest with) in the center of its flag. There is also a torch and a ring of 24 stars representing the villages of the island. On an automobile antenna flag the design is represented in white and blue only, but a ceremonial flag approximately 2' x 3' in size adds red to the flames. Both flags are fringed in gold, the larger flag having the elaborate fringe characteristic of flags made in Japan.
