Presentation of Villarrubio

The municipality of Villarrubio (112 inhabitants in 2018; 2,830 ha) is located 80 km south-west of Cuenca.

Symbols of Villarrubio

The flag (photo) and arms of Villarrubio are prescribed by Decree No. 20, issued on 23 February 1988 by the Government of Castilla-La Mancha and published on 1 March 1988 in the official gazette of Castilla-La Mancha, No. 9, pp. 407-408 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: White panel, charged on one side with the coat of arms of Villarrubio, and on the other side with a Cross of Saint James centered in the upper half and with three blue wavy stripes in the lower half.
Coat of arms: Argent three fesses wavy azure in base surmounted by a Cross of Saint James gules. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
