The municipality of Alconera (730 inhabitants in 2018 vs. 1,639 in 1950; 3,270 ha) is located 100 km south-east of Badajoz and 10 km south-west of Zafra.

Flag of Alconera

The flag and arms of Alconera, adopted on 29 October 1992, 28 January, 8 July and 28 October 1993 by the Municipal Council and validated on 25 May and 22 September 1993 by the Assessing Council of Honors and Distinctions of the Government of Extremadura, are prescribed by an Order issued on Z0 December 1993 by the Government of Extremadura and published on 13 January 1994 in the official gazette of Extremadura, No. 4, pp. 65-66 (text).
The symbols are described as follows:

Flag: Rectangular flag, in proportions 2:3, horizontally divided in the middle, white over red, with a blue triangle placed along the hoist, charged in the center with the municipal coat of arms in full colors.
Coat of arms: Per pale, 1. Azure three falcons [halcones] or, 2. Gules a clumn and a capital argent. A bordure or five fig leaves vert. The shield surmounted by a Royal crown closed.
