FSD had its origin as an offspring of the Bavarian branch of Deutsche Lebens Rettungs Gesellschaft (DLRG). It began as an independent task force of DLRG in 1963, operating exclusively at lake Chiemsee. In 1974 it was reorganized as an independent association, run exclusively by volunteers, rescueing people upon Bavarian lakes by using the member's own boats.
It is a white pennant divided by a red cotized cross shifted to the hoist and superimposed by the association's logo.
Logo: It is a white oval surrounded by a greyish rope closed by a knot at the oval's bottom. Within the oval is a black anchor. Beneath the anchor are black initials "FSD".

Source: I spotted this pennant on 19 February in the private Naval Museum, located in Casa Iriarte building, in Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife).
