Ohrum Coat of Arms

Shield Gules, parted by a pale Or and a fess wavy Or, on heart point a linden leaf Gules.
Meaning:
The tinctures are those of the Duchy of Braunschweig and the Bishopric of Hildesheim. Pale and fess wavy are representing an ancient highway and a waterway, the Oker river. The cross is also alluding to the local church, first mentioned in 1022, and to the Lords of Ohrum. The leaf is symbolising that the municipality belongs to Oderwald comprehensive municipality. It is furthermore symbolising the will to survive of the local people.
