Coat of Arms

Description of coat of arms:
The silver(=white) shield is divided by a red cross, which is uperimposed by an upright golden(=yellow) key.
Meaning:
According to source s based upon a relief, placed above the entrance of the town hall of 1449. Though the location was ruled by the archbishopric and electorate of Köln, the colour of the cross became red. The key is an attribute of St.Peter, the patron of the archbishopric.
