Lachen Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a fess Gules, above charged with three morions Argent in fess, chief Argent a bend Gules fretty Or.
The bend is displays the arms of the Lords of Rothenstein, who acquired the village in 1446 as part of the Lordship of Theinselberg. They had been in service of the Bishops of Kempten. The morions are reminding on the Marshals of Pappenheim, who acquired the village in 1482. Between 1695 and 1802 the village belonged to the Bishopric of Kempten, represented in the arms by its tinctures red and blue.
