Wasserlosen Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a wulf rampant Argent holding a mace Or in pale by his forepaws, in dexter chief an 8-point-star Or, in sinister chief a Maltese cross Or, orle eight times parted of Argent and Gules.
Meaning:
The wulf is representing the former Wülfershausen Municipality, the mace the former Wasserlosen Municipality. The wulf is a canting element. The mace is an attribute of St. Judas Thaddeus, the local patron saint. The star is an attribute of St. Mary, patron saint of the Greßtal parish church. The cross is referring to the Order of St. John, which owned large estates in the current municipality. The tinctures of the orle are those of the Bishopric of Würzburg. The number of pieces is representing the former eight municipalities, which merged on 1 May 1978.
