Rattenberg Coat of Arms

Shield Azure a ram´s head Argent armed Or and flanked by three balls Or in base.
Meaning:
The tinctures silver and blue are those of the Counts of Bogen, who caused the populating of the area by forest clearance and those of their successors since the 13th century of the Wittelsbach kin.The head of a ram (Bavarian: Rammer) is a canting element from the family arms of the Lords of Ramsperg, who built Neurandsberg castle around 1330. The golden balls are an attribute of St. Nicolas, the local patron saint.
